Welcome to CBSBB

The Mission of the Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers is to strengthen low-income families and help them recognize, reach for and achieve their full potential regardless of religious affiliation. For over 100 years, the Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers (CBSBB) has provided mentoring services for New York City's Catholic and non-Catholic children from all five boroughs. Today, CBSBB's mentoring program focuses on strengthening the child's entire family, while training volunteers to be friends and guides to a young person in need. Our comprehensive program provides one-to-one mentoring for children ages 10-18, family-focused counseling and skills-building workshops for mentoring matches.

How to Volunteer

Are you interested in making a difference in the life of a child? If so, then consider becoming a mentor with The Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers! Not only is the experience rewarding, but it allows men and women to give back to the community, develop a meaningful relationship with a child, join a network of other caring adults and have an excuse to explore the city!

You do not need to be Catholic to be a Catholic Big Sister or Big Brother! More info on volunteering . . .

Support Us

In order for CBSBB to continue to offer programs and services to help kids and families succeed, we depend on donors like you! There are many different ways to give and support The Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers; one of our most  popular giving opportunities is called Sponsor-a-Match. This opportunity allows individuals to give money directly to a mentoring match and receive regular updates on how the match is developing. Donors receive photos, write ups and our monthly newsletter--it's a great way to give back to the community! More info on supporting CBSBB...
